What is Breast lift & reduction?
Sagging comes naturally with time, pregnancy and weight changes. A breast lift moves the tissue and nipple higher and removes excess skin. If large breasts cause pain or limit daily life, their size is reduced at the same time.
Is it right for me?
- Sagging after pregnancy or weight loss
- Large breasts causing neck, shoulder or back pain
- Nipples sitting below the breast fold
Procedure steps
Depending on the degree of sagging, the incision goes around the areola, vertically or in an anchor shape. Excess tissue is removed and the breast is reshaped with the patient's own tissue.
Recovery
A support bra is worn for 6 weeks. Stitches come out after about two weeks and scars fade over the following year.
Risks and safety
- Visible scars
- Change in nipple sensation
- Minor asymmetry
- Breastfeeding may be limited after a large reduction
